DURBAN BUOYED BY THE RETURN OF THE 13TH DURBAN BOAT & LIFESTYLE SHOW

From Friday 24 June to Sunday 26 June (the first weekend of the school holidays), the Durban Marina will only again play host to one of the premiere events on the Durban calendar – the 13th annual Durban Boat & Lifestyle Show.

The 3 day event, which attracts thousands of local and domestic guests, showcases all manner of weird and wonderful boats – from small and affordable inflatable motor and paddle powered boats, to large yachts and catamarans that epitomise luxury.  The latest in fishing, navigation, electronic equipment and more will also be featured.

The Durban Boat & Lifestyle Show has become a major Durban and KZN event and has directly injected millions of rands in the local economy.

“This year we are excited to have the latest from Riviera, Maverick, Mariner/Tui, Jeanneau, Cap Camarat and Knysna Yacht Co on the Show” says Durban Boat & Lifestyle Show organiser, Barry Meehan.

Destinations also feature prominently, from fishing expeditions in Mozambique and Tanzania, as well as safaris to Botswana and around Southern Africa.

The ultimate event for outdoor enthusiasts, the show also features a kids’ play area, food stalls, free boat rides for kids, a possible place on a racing yacht during the Simply Sailing Regatta on the Saturday and Sunday, and a whole lot more fun and exciting activities still to be confirmed.

Several marquees will be erected around the Durban Marina area and boats will be moored in the Marina itself, as well as being showcased on the surrounding areas.

“Parking will be at a cost of R5 per vehicle and is a donation that will go towards the National Sea Rescue Institute – a 100% voluntary charity that saves lives on South African waters,” says Barry.
