This year’s International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) crowned South Africa’s Abrie Beeslaar at Kanonkop Estate (situated on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch) the best wine in the world.
The prestigious awards ceremony, held in London named the Stellenbosch wine estate “International Winemaker of the Year”. Beeslaar is no newbie to winning, having won the same title in 2008. Apart from International Winemaker of the Year, Kanonkop Estate was also named the “South African Producer of the Year” at this year’s IWSC event and as well as the winner of the trophy for Best Pinotage for the Kanonkop Pinotage 2012.
The International Wine and Spirit Competition is the world’s leading wine and spirits competition, with more than 5500 products entered by 50 countries.
