From glamorous ball gowns, shining tiaras and stylish tuxedos to dashing dolphins and fabulous singers – it was an evening of unlimited entertainment for the 11th annual Nestle Ice Cream Mr, Miss and Miss Teen uShaka Marine World brand ambassador competition on Saturday, April 25th hosted at the Standard Bank Dolphin Stadium.
The crowds of supporters from family and friends had a fun and an entertaining evening, while the judges battled to make their decision on who out of the 45 contestants hand picked out of thousands of entries, would walk away with prizes valued at over R50 000.
The judges eventually decided the following based on a number of criteria from who had strong leadership abilities as well as ambassadorial skills, an all-round 10 to become their representative: In the Miss Teen uShaka category: 2nd runner up was 16 year old Kimberly Miles from Queensburgh, 1st runner up was 15 year old from Umlazi, Sinenhlanhla Motloung and Stanger’s Londeka Nzuza who is 16 years old was crowned the winner.
In the Mr uShaka category: 2nd runner up was 23 year old Durbanite, Thabiso Buthelezi with Jason Dicks who is 24 from Berea as the runner up and Mr uShaka 2015 was 24 year old Woodland’s resident, Thanduxolo Masiteng.
Finally, the crown for Miss uShaka 2015 went to Zululand beauty, 18 year old, Neena Bezuidenhout, with Queensburgh’s 19 year old resident, Nqobile Mahlambi as runner up with fellow Queensburgh lass, Amy Stemmet who is 17 years old placed as the second runner up.
The general consensus from each category winner was that they were thrilled that they had won in their respective category and look forward to their reign for 2015 at uShaka Marine World.
